Mel Shea is the founder, owner and senior Personal Trainer at F.I.T

She has been offering her services as a Certified Personal Trainer coupled with Holistic Nutritional advice based on an extensive nutritional background, to a variety of clientele for over a decade.
She specializes in CORE conditioning, post rehabilitation services, and posture biomechanics. Mel has an incredible passion for every aspect of what she does and a deep dedication to the overall well-being of her clients, both in her studio and in their day-to-day lives.
Mel takes each client as they are, provides them with the tools, knowledge, motivation and inspiration to strive for a healthy and balanced lifestyle that not only enables her clients to achieve a better ‘body’, but ultimately allows her clients to enjoy a better, richer quality of life.
The combination of Mel’s vast training and nutritional knowledge along wither her deep compassion and humour, gives each and every client a truly priceless experience. Such an experience, when embraced and committed to by the client will put you on the path to maximizing your body, your health and your overall life.
On a personal note, Mel enjoys continualy educating herself as she loves learning about health and how to acheive optimal health. Mel also enjoys hitting the trails either by foot or by bike and hopes one day to travel and hike various mountains across the world.

Erin Miller
Hi I’m Erin!! I have a serious passion for fitness, learning, and teaching which is why I love being one of the trainers here at the FIT Institute!
I became a certified Personal Trainer in 2007 through Can-Fit Pro, and furthered my studies with Nutrition & Wellness Specialist , and Resist-A-Ball CORE Level One. |
Along with my fitness background I went on to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (200 hrs.) through the Forest Academy of Mind Body Medicine, and through them discovered my love of Vedic sciences. I’ve since graduated from the same school in Joytish, and Ayurveda both 200 hr. programs. Just recently I became a Certified Zumba, Zumba Gold, and Zumbatomic Instructor. Currently I am working on becoming certified in Thai Yoga Massage through Thai Massage Toronto.
I hope to continue to expand my experiences, and education. To show people it’s possible to live a healthy lifestyle even with a busy schedule, and help them incorporate that into their daily lives. To continue to meet, encourage, and motivate people to bring out the best in themselves, which is truly the best part of this “job”!

Todd Pickard
Todd is the newest Personal Trainer here at F.I.T Institute. In his role at F.I.T, Todd works one on one with clients as well as instructing group sessions in all aspects of client goals such as weight loss, muscle strengthening, body coordination among others for overall personal transformations.

Todd is no stranger to the health care industry having spent more then 5 years working towards and maintaining his personal weight loss goals and overall health improvements. At a younger age, Todd had knee complications that have followed him through to his adult years, restricting his ability to do any major physical activities. By the time Todd reached his twenties he had become overweight, and very unhealthy from poor dietary habits and living a sedentary lifestyle. He realized he had to
make some drastic changes and started exercising every day, enrolled in physiotherapy and changed his nutritional intake and soon after he was on a path to his weight loss goals. A year after starting his weight loss journey, Todd then came here to F.I.T as a client to help push him further down the path and reach his personal goals, unknowing he would find his passion to help others live a healthy active lifestyle.
The past year Todd has acquired Can Fit Pro cerification, as well as First Aid Level 3 CPR and is fully registered as a Personal Training Specialist. He then went to work for one of the major gym corporations as a personal trainer. Then found the pathway to the F.I.T family and found his perfect FIT!
Todd is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle, to be able to go for a hike, play golf or go swimming among other things that for a long time seemed to be out of reach. Todd's new goals
are to help others reach this state of a health lifestyle, to pass on to others the knowledge and skill to accomplish personal goals.

Sandi Hogg
Sandi is excited to be a new addition to the FIT family! Sport and fitness have always been a driving force in her life, underlying many of her personal goals. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, where she also earned her Bachelor of Education in Phys. Ed. and Biology.

Sandi has been teaching high school for eight years and coaching basketball and distance running. This year she finally decided to take her passion for fitness and coaching to a different forum and pursue personal training.
Sandi’s pursuit of personal training is a natural blend of all her passions. She hopes her enthusiasm for teaching and coaching combined with her love of sport and fitness can help motivate others to achieve their goals.

I have been involved in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years now. I got my first gym membership when I was 16. I loved the way working out made me feel, so happy so energetic and focused. I was at the gym so much I realize I needed to make it my career. |
I received my Can-Fit-Pro personal training specialist in 2004 and have been working in the health and fitness industry ever since!
I discovered my true passion in 2008 when I completed a Holistic Lifestyle Coaching and Nutrition program. I love food, shopping for it, making it, eating it and learning about the many benefits of proper nutrition.
Whatever your reason for training may be; weight control, strength and core conditioning, lifestyle and nutritional guidance, I believe I can help you achieve that goal.
